Italian SHARE Users’ Conference
The first Italian SHARE Users’ Conference will take place on June 28-29, 2012, at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice.
The aim of the Conference is to promote the exchange of research ideas and discuss results of ongoing research among international users of SHARE data. We invite papers on a wide range of fields including retirement and ageing, labour economics, public economics, health economics and demography. Methodological papers and comparisons with ELSA/HRS are also welcome. Special sessions will be dedicated to the following topics:
1) social security systems and cross-country comparisons
2) income distribution and redistribution (within and between generations).
The invited speakers will be Axel H. Börsch-Supan (Munich Center for the Economics of Aging, Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy) and Alberto Holly (Université de Lausanne). The welcome address will be given by Guglielmo Weber (University of Padua). The conference will also include a special session with Michael Hurd (RAND) and Agar Brugiavini (Univeristy Ca' Foscari of Venice)
Submissions by colleagues at earlier stages of their scientific career are particularly encouraged. Papers or extended abstracts (of 1000 words maximum, plus figures/tables) should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org by April 15, 2012. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by April 30, 2012.
There will be no conference fee, although travel and accommodation expenses should be covered by the participants themselves. The Conference might offer financial support for graduate students to cover their travel expenses.
