Advanced School of Economics in Venice

Scuola Superiore di Economia (SSE)

The Advanced School of Economics (Scuola Superiore di Economia, SSE) of the Ca Foscari University of Venice runs two doctoral programs: Business (DEA) & Economics (DEC).
DEA is devoted to advanced education in all fields of management research.
DEC is devoted to advanced education in all fields of economics.
The School coordinates both programs, which share several first-year courses and a common philosophy. The School is based in Venice and offers only courses at a doctoral level. The official language is English.
Currently, the Director of the School is Agar Brugiavini. The Directors of the two doctoral programs are: Massimo Warglien (DEA), Agar Brugiavini (DEC). Both doctoral programs last a minimum of 3 years. The School offers 20 new positions to students each year; 10 of these positions are financed by three-year scholarships.
The School is supported by public funding (including the special program by the Ministry of University and Research for “excellence” PhD programs) and private institutions such as Fondazione Venezia and Fondazione Coin.
